Luesattha Leads Historic Run as Odessa College Captures First NJCAA Women’s Golf National Title

Odessa College secured a historic victory at the 2025 NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, earning the program’s first national title with a dominant performance that left no doubt. The Wranglers finished with a four-round team total of 1,182 strokes, outpacing runner-up Seminole State by 18 shots and third-place Daytona State by 27.

At the center of Odessa’s championship run was Napajira Nami Luesattha, who turned in a spectacular individual performance to win the tournament’s Medalist Award. Luesattha was the only player in the field to finish under par, posting a remarkable 9-under total for the week. Her consistency not only secured the individual title but helped drive the Wranglers to a historic team victory. Chloe De Verner added to Odessa’s success with a second-place finish, carding a four-round score of 296 at 8-over par. The duo’s efforts provided a powerful one-two punch that helped the Wranglers separate themselves from a competitive field that included multiple national contenders.

Seminole State maintained its place among the elite with a second-place finish, marking the program’s fifth straight top two result since the COVID-19 pandemic. Asitha Ashok led the Raiders with a third-place finish individually, while teammates Abir Taibi and Leonie Krausse both tied for eighth at 300 strokes.

Daytona State, the defending national champion, placed third with a team total of 1,209. Despite falling short of a repeat, the Falcons remained competitive behind the efforts of Samantha Paradise, who tied for fifth individually with a score of 299.

Odessa’s championship win marked a significant shift in NJCAA women’s golf, ending a streak of Florida-based champions that had stretched back to 2012.

Head coach Wayne Baker received the 2025 Coach of the Tournament honor, recognizing his leadership throughout the week. New Mexico Junior College was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for its exemplary conduct during the event.
