Ohio Women’s Golf Opens 2025-26 Season with Record-Breaking Showing at A-Ga-Ming Invitational

KEWADIN, Mich. — The Ohio Women’s Golf team began the 2025-26 season with a statement performance at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational at the Sundance Golf Course. The Bobcats secured a fifth-place finish with a team total of 892 (+28), launching the new campaign on a high note.
Among the highlights was the collegiate debut of Paige Treherne, the No 3 Putt Golf Scholarship recipient. The freshman joined a competitive lineup that included juniors Zoe Luebbers and Morgan Rodgers, senior Mackenzie McRee, and sophomore Saylor Wharff.
Ohio came out firing in the first round with a 287 (-1), marking the second-lowest single-round score in program history. The strong opening round gave the Bobcats an early lead heading into the second round on Sunday afternoon. A 301 (+13) in round two placed them in second heading into the final day. Ohio wrapped up play on Monday morning with a 304 (+16), ultimately finishing fifth behind Bowling Green (+9), Bradley (+17), Western Michigan (+25), and Oakland (+26).
Leading Ohio’s charge was junior Zoe Luebbers, who posted scores of 69 (-3), 73 (+1), and 74 (+2) across the three rounds to finish tied for fifth at even par (216). Senior Mackenzie McRee was also a top performer, carding 70 (-2), 73 (E), and 75 (+3), ending the tournament tied for seventh at 218 (+2).
Ally Turner and Morgan Rodgers both tied for 32nd overall. Turner posted rounds of 73 (+1), 82 (+10), and 74 (+2), while Rodgers turned in scores of 73 (+1), 81 (+9), and 75 (+3), with both finishing at 229 (+13).
Paige Treherne, representing Cincinnati and competing in her first collegiate tournament, showed determination throughout the weekend. After an opening-round 85 (+13), she responded with a strong 74 (+2) in the second round—one of the team’s best of the day—and closed with an 80 (+8) to finish 58th overall at 239 (+23).
Saylor Wharff rounded out the Bobcat lineup, tying for 65th with rounds of 75 (+3), 82 (+10), and 86 (+14), for a total score of 243 (+27).
The Bobcats now shifts its focus to the Brittany Kelly Classic, taking place September 15-16 at The Players Club Golf Course in Yorktown, Indiana.
