Champion’s Path: How Logan Bentley is working to shape her future at the next level
Brooklyn, Mi – When people in the Jackson area and state of Michigan think high school girls’ golf, one to the first names mentioned is Logan Bentley. Bentley is a talented senior on the Columbia Central Girls Golf Team, and a three-time All-Conference and All-State selection. Finishing as a runner-up in the MHSAA State Finals, Bentley is poised to make her run at an individual state championship, as well as anchoring a tough Golden Eagles team. The Golden Eagles will be looking to compete for a State Championship after finishing third a year ago.
Bentley will be going into her senior season of high school and finds herself in a unique position. Not having made a decision yet on where she will play her golf collegiately, Bentley is still awaiting an offer that fits her. Having started the 2024 season on a high note capturing first place with her teammate Kelsey Fausz in the East Jackson Scramble shooting a 30 for 9 holes, she continues to hold out optimism that offer will come.
Below is a list of Bentley’s accomplishments:
- Fall 2021: As a high school freshman, Bentley earns a spot in the All-State team, showcasing her rising talent and competitive edge in high school golf.
- Fall 2021: Bentley also claims the Conference Championship, establishing herself as a leading player in her region.
- Fall 2022: Bentley continues to excel by winning the Conference Championship again and securing the Regional Championship. She finishes as State Runner-Up, demonstrating consistent high performance.
- Fall 2022: Bentley is named to the All-State team once more, reflecting her ongoing excellence and competitive success.
- Summer 2023: Bentley achieves an impressive sponsor exemption into the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, an Epson Tour event following her sophomore year.
- Fall 2023: Bentley is named to the All-State team for the third consecutive year and wins the Regional Championship for the second time. She also secures the Conference Championship for the third consecutive year.
- Summer 2024: Bentley, now a senior, competes in the PGA High School Golf National Invitational in Frisco, showcasing her skills on a national platform.
- Summer 2024: At the Scotland SJGI event, Bentley remains undefeated, continuing her streak of impressive performances.
- Summer 2024: Bentley wins the Tour of Champions event on the Meijer Callaway Tour with rounds of 75 and 70, totaling 145 at Forest Akers West. This victory earns her a five-year exemption into the Michigan PGA Women’s Open Tournament.
- Summer 2024: Bentley finishes the year ranked first in scoring average across the Meijer Callaway Tour, JCWGA, and Jackson Jr. Mercer Tour.
