Delayed But Decided: Round One Complete at NAIA Women’s Golf Championship
The 2026 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship got off to an exciting start at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan, with a tightly contested leaderboard after the opening round.
Top-ranked Dalton State Roadrunners leads the team standings with a score of 301, holding a narrow two-shot advantage over Truett McConnell Bears. British Columbia Thunderbirds and Southeastern Fire are tied for third, four shots off the lead.
Weather delays forced the first round to stretch across two days, with only 15 golfers completing play Tuesday before the remainder of the field finished Wednesday.
Individually, Katherine Hao of British Columbia leads the field after shooting an even-par 72, the only par round of the tournament so far. Her teammate, Keira Hou, sits three shots back in a tie for seventh.
Wednesday also featured two hole-in-ones, recorded by Charlotte Huynh of SCAD Atlanta and Giulia Belfontali of Lewis-Clark State Warriors.
